About
Mother's Power is an organization founded in 2021 by Aaryaman Sawhney in his junior year of high-school based out of Austin, Texas. Our organization strives to create awareness for maternal mortality. World Health Organization (WHO) defines maternal mortality as "the death of a woman while pregnant or within 42 days of termination of pregnancy, irrespective of the duration and site of the pregnancy, from any cause related to or aggravated by the pregnancy or its management but not from accidental or incidental causes."

In the winter break of 2019, while Aaryaman was still a sophomore, he traveled to India and shadowed gynecologists during C-sections. Watching the process of birth at a young age was an awe-inspiring and unique experience he had ever witnessed and it left a deep imprint on his mind.
The topic of maternal mortality in a research publication caught his eye, an issue that had been on the rise and one that had to be brought forward and discussed with society. The more he read and heard, the stronger was his resolve to help. With a proclivity for a career in medicine and his prior experience of watching childbirth, Aaryaman initiated a thought process of starting a movement to fight maternal mortality, create awareness, and strengthen our communities through giving back.
We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
Our Mission
To create a world in which moms are in control of their own bodies in pregnancy to help prevent maternal deaths.
